Technical support
Let’s get playback moving.
Get help with local playback, on-device subtitles, translation, FTP or SMB 2/3 network sources, and the one-time Network Sources purchase.
Before you email
Please include your device model, iOS/iPadOS or macOS version, GlancePlayer version and build, the media container and codec if known, what you expected, what happened, and clear steps to reproduce the issue.
Do not send passwords, purchase credentials, authenticated URLs, or complete sensitive server paths. Send a media sample only if you have permission to share it and it is necessary to reproduce the issue.
Local playback
- Confirm the file opens from Files or Finder and is fully available on the device.
- Try another file to separate a file-specific codec issue from an app issue.
- Playback support depends on the container, codec, device, and available AVFoundation or VLC path.
Subtitles and translation
- Select the spoken source language explicitly.
- Keep the app active while required speech models or translation resources download.
- Availability and quality depend on the device, OS version, language, region, audio, and installed resources.
FTP and SMB
- Verify the host, port, username, share name, root path, and local-network permission.
- Confirm the server supports SMB 2/3 or the FTP operations needed for listing and seeking.
- FTP is plaintext. Use it only on a trusted network.
Purchase and restore
- Use the same Apple Account that made the purchase.
- Open Network Sources and choose Restore Purchases.
- Pending, revoked, or unverified transactions cannot unlock access until Apple returns a verified entitlement.
Scope
GlancePlayer plays media you select or can access on servers you configure. It does not provide a content catalog, media search, downloads, BitTorrent or magnet links, DRM bypass, cloud speech processing, or account services.
